While the numbers are great, it is nowhere close to the capacity we\u2019re aiming for by the year 2030, which is 500 GW of energy generation capacity from non-fossil fuels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between 2024 and 2026, India has already received private investments of almost $64 billion, out of which about $6.2-6.3 billion came from foreign private players. This significantly accelerated India\u2019s renewable energy infrastructure development, but we\u2019re still far behind the goal ahead. However, this might change sooner than we assume with the upcoming Bharat Renewable Energy Summit &amp; Expo starting November 2, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a recent media interaction, Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary at the Ministry of New &amp; Renewable Energy, said that to reach the goal of non-fossil fuel capacity of 500 GW by the year 2030, India needs an investment of about $220 billion.
